PERIOPERATIVE CLINICAL EDUCATOR
Job Description
Under direction of the Director of Education, the Perioperative Clinical Educator works in collaboration with the Director of Surgical Services, and assumes accountability for the assessment of educational needs. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs which facilitate the competence of hospital staff within their specific departments.Must be able to work normalscheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. Needs to recognize that they have an affirmative duty and responsibility for reporting perceived misconduct, including actual or potential violations of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or this organizations standardscode of conduct. The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and the employee shall at all times demonstrate a cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general and Healthcare related documents. Ability to manage data, write reports and effectively present information to groups of people. Ability to apply general knowledge to specific situations in order to make decisions. Must be organized and thorough. Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office, online learning management systems and other software as indicated.Must have demonstrated skill in assessing Educational needs, the preparation and presentation of inservice and patient education programs, and evaluating educational programs effectiveness.
Skills Required
Must have a current licensure as a Registered Nurse R.N. in the state of California and Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider cards required. Must have maintain BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor status wi 6 mo
Skills Preferred
Masters of Nursing MSN or Nursing Education MSNEd Degree preferred or obtain within three 3 years of hire. Masters degree in other healthcare related field may be accepted with demonstrated staffpatient Educational experience.
